Day 21 of 365

Seriously...

How can one not be grateful for chocolate brownies and fresh strawberries?!

Day 16 of 365

I have seen this publicity around town re recycling.  I just love it because the bicycle really is the first SUV, isn't it?

So grateful to others' creativity.  That way I am able to appreciate it.

Good to know.

Transparency is a good thing.  We are entitled to know these things.

Day 11 of 365

.

A calm bird perched safely on a rock in the middle of turbulent waters reminds me that I, too, can find peace during challenging times.

Grataeful to be aware of the reminder

Day 10 of 365

Extremely grateful that ain't me about to topple over in those silver high-heeled shoes.

(Truth be told, I was struggling to keep up with her to get a picture)

Day 9 of 365

Portico (s), Portici (pl)

Covered walkways outside buildings and before the streets. Their purpose is to protect you from the elements especially rain and snow or even the too-hot sun.  They are often true works of art from the marble floors, columns, decorative ceilings, lights, brass.  They are commonly found in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy.

And a view from the outside...
In America, a portico usually refers to a small covered area above the front door of a house.

Why am I grateful?  Well, this is my walk to and from work today.  Quite charming, yes.  But not only.  I lug heavy equipment behind me. The smooth tile sidewalk makes for easy rolling as opposed to cobble stone streets.

Day 8 of 365

Grateful for work, especially when I get to go to a new-to-me, never-been-before place.  Forlì, Italy

Day 7 of 365

Clementines.

I cannot get enough of these succulent, thirst-quenching, winter oranges. Their season comes to an end later this month. I enjoy them in abundance while they are still available, incredibly delicious, and rich in Vitamin C.

Day 6 of 365

Grateful to those with often thankless jobs.  They pick up broken glass that our dogs otherwise walk on and the thousands of cigarette butts that carpet the streets.

05 January 2014

Day 5 of 365

A typical day (or night) I have views such as this one.  I am grateful to have this opportunity to live amid such amazing history, culture, and art.

Day 4 of 365

Love where I live.  Looking off in the distance along the Lungarno in the direction of Casentino after a rainy night during a warmer-than-usual winter (so far)

03 January 2014

Day 3 of 365

The colors of chaos inside my desk drawer.  Grateful I know where to find what I need.  Grateful to have a desk and all that's in and on it.   Grateful to have work that necessitates my need for a desk.

Day 2 of 365

Mabel loves to go for rides in the car.

Since we no longer have a need to depend on a car to get around, I am grateful to see her smiling face while out on a little adventure.  A treat for both of us.

Day 1 of 365

Love this girl, my sweet furry child at 15 years old.  Her rawhide pacifies her dis-ease of having to wear a cone.
